Kennesaw Farms, the 300-acre mixed-use community located in the heart of Sumer County, announces its latest community updates.
A major pharmacy retailer closed June 29 on a site located on the outer boundaries of the community along Gallatin Road. A neo-traditional neighborhood, complete with town homes, cottages, estate-homes, and multi-family residences, Kennesaw Farms is set on land that was formerly the home of numerous championship horses.
Pharmacy Retailer to Anchor Outparcel
A national pharmacy retailer closed on a location on the outset of the Kennesaw Farms neighborhood along Gallatin Road. The corner outparcel on Kennesaw Boulevard will offer prescription medications and related health care products as well as popular beauty, health, and personal care brands.
"We are so pleased to be able to add yet another level of convenience for Kennesaw Farms residents" said developer David Luckey.
Avondale at Kennesaw Farms, an upscale multi-family complex, has been completed and apartment homes are available for occupancy. The residential, for-lease community offers handsome stone entrances and inviting pathways. Avondale also offers residents state of the art technology, including direct connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspots, as well as an opportunity to relax, with its own resort-style swimming pool and beach chair deck as well as barbeque grills and a picnic area for grilling outside entertaining.
Interior features of the apartment homes include 9 foot ceilings, large windows, Whirpool kitchen appliances and a washer and dryer.
Picturesque Cottage Homes along the neighborhood's charming main street in Kennesaw Village are completed and open as model homes on a daily basis. As a focal point in the community, the single family homes are centered around an old-fashioned-looking main street and each have driveway access by way of alleys in the rear. This traditional neighborhood model encourages residents to embrace front porch living and contributes to the close-knit community-feel of Kennesaw Farms.
Pool and Clubhouse Construction to begin this Summer.
Construction on the Derby Club, Kennesaw Farms residential pool and clubhouse, will begin this summer. The Derby Club will mirror the current Kennesaw Farms style, paying homage to Kennesaw Farms history as a championship thoroughbred farm.
Developers Preserve History, Community
Built on the site of the Kennesaw Farm and Thoroughbred Stud, an historic property that has served as the home of two Kentucky Derby-winning horses, developers David Luckey and Tim Wheeler are intent on preserving the history and character of the land.
"Kennesaw Farms has been such an integral part of Gallatin and Sumner County's past that staying true to its background and history has been out number one goal in developing the Kennesaw community," Luckey said.
"We set out to create a real sense of community and connectivity in Kennesaw Farms, and as more and more families make Kennesaw Farms their home, this tradition is being realized."
Kennesaw Farms previous advancements include a two-story brick clock tower that serves as the focal point of the neighborhood's entry Boulevard. Historic-looking iron light posts, benches and wide sidewalks contribute to the traditional streetscape feel of the community.
Also located along the entry Boulevard is the renovated Kennesaw Farms 1850's mansion, which is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for tours. The mansion houses the historical documents related to the historic plantation property and is available for special events, including weddings, rehearsal dinners and corporate meetings.
Kennesaw Farms is a 300-acre, mixed-use community that offers residents a unique living experience. Plans for the neighborhood include homes, retail shops, restaurants and offices nestled in desirable Sumner County. A system of streetscapes connects the neighborhood and its town homes, cottages, single and multi-family homes with numerous pocket parks, pools, and other community-wide amenities.
Located in Gallatin, just north of Nashville off I-65, Kennesaw Farms offers convenient access from one of the most well-traveled roads, in Middle Tennessee.
